A SHORT TRIP OF THE DOOARS (WESTERN PART)
If you have only 03 days to visit Dooars. You can and make a short trip of the western part of Dooars. You can start your trip from NJP (New Jalpaiguri Railway Station) / Bagdogra airport. From your starting point, you will see many cars, prepaid cab booth. You will go and talk with them for your trip. Otherwise, if you know any reliable tour organizer, you can book a car, hotel/resort in advance for your trip.
The car would take you through the elephant corridor and dense parts of Baikunthpur Forest and cross River Teesta to halt at Gajoldoba Reservoir, where you would find migratory birds from Central Asia in winter. This reservoir watered by a barrage on River Teesta is a birdwatcher’s paradise and you can even take short boat trips to get close to the birds. Reach Lataguri / Murti by lunchtime.
(You can take Gorumara Forest jeep safari in the evening or the next day morning). If you will not take Gorumara Forest Jeep Safari in the evening, you can go to MEDLA Watchtower which is located at Kalipur near Ramsay on the eastern fringe of Gorumara National Park. There are unique Bullock cart driven forest safari available here. Overnight at Lataguri / Murti.
02nd day of your trip You can take Gorumara Forest jeep safari this morning if you have not taken jeep safari the previous day. After breakfast at the resort, leave for Samsing which is a small hill village and tourist spot in the Matiali, Malbazar subdivision of Jalpaiguri district of West Bengal situated at an elevation of 3000ft in the foothills in between Jalpaiguri and Darjeeling districts border. It is known for its beautiful landscape with green tea garden sceneries, hills and forests. On a clear day, the snow-clad mountains of Bhutan are also visible from this place. It lies 18 km from the Neora Valley National Park.

On the way sightseeing at Jhallong which is surrounded by the thickly wooded forest and the astounding hills of Bhutan in the backdrop, this place is undoubtedly a paradise for nature lovers. This hill station is situated near Indo-Bhutan border on the banks of the jaldhaka river. On the way to Bindu Jaldhaka Hydro Electricity Project on the Jaldhaka River is a major attraction in this are. Bird lover can enjoy a varied collection of hill birds as well as migratory waterfowl here. You can take your lunch in front of Jaldhaka river bed.

Then you proceed for Bindu which is the last village on the Indian side bordering Bhutan. It is known for its landscape with Jaldhaka River, hills and forests. There is a conjunction of three streams at Bindu. The three streams are known as Bindu Khola, Dudh Pokhri and Jaldhaka that originates from the Kupup lake, a small glacial lake in Sikkim. The combined streams meet at Bindu to form the Jaldhaka River.
There is a dam known as Bindu Dam over the Jaldhaka river which is used for controlling water supply to the Jaldhaka Hydel Project at Jhalong and acts as a bridge for crossing over to Bhutan.

After the visit Bindu Dam, you will go to Rocky Island which is a hill station of Dooars and a small village in Samsing. Rocky Island surrounded by the hills along with the Murti River, enhances the beauty of the place. A small piece of land blessed with scenic beauty is a complete peace to the soul and eyes.
After the visit all natures you can stay at night at Samsing
